The prices of animal feed and local raw materials in Egypt fluctuated on Monday, September 21, 2026. Poultry feed prices, specifically for broiler chicks, ranged from 23,000 to 25,000 pounds per ton, depending on the factory, age group, bird type, quality, and bag weight. These prices were recorded during market transactions and trading.
According to traders, the prices of different types of animal feed varied. For instance, feed for egg-laying poultry ranged from 19,000 to 21,500 pounds per ton, while cattle feed ranged from 16,000 to 21,000 pounds per ton. Additionally, duck feed was priced between 22,400 and 23,000 pounds per ton, rabbit feed at 17,300 pounds per ton, and sheep feed at 17,300 pounds per ton.
Traders also reported that the prices of other animal feeds were as follows: quail feed ranged from 23,000 to 24,000 pounds per ton, pigeon feed from 19,100 to 20,400 pounds per ton, and camel and horse feed at 18,600 pounds per ton. Furthermore, ostrich feed was priced at 23,000 pounds per ton, and concentrates at 25,500 pounds per ton.
The prices of raw materials used in animal feed production also fluctuated. The price of Brazilian and Argentine yellow corn, a primary raw material, was 15,000 pounds per ton. In contrast, Ukrainian, Serbian, and American yellow corn was priced at 14,500 pounds per ton. Argentine corn flakes were priced at 16,500 pounds per ton.
Traders noted that the prices of other raw materials were as follows: cottonseed was priced at 24,500 pounds per ton, linseed cake at 25,000 pounds per ton, and coarse bran at 14,500 pounds per ton. Additionally, soybean hulls were priced at 15,000 pounds per ton.
The prices of protein-rich raw materials also varied. Local soybean cake with 44% protein was priced at 25,000 pounds per ton, while the same product with 46% protein was priced at 26,000 pounds per ton. Imported soybean cake was also priced at 26,000 pounds per ton. Sunflower cake was priced at 18,500 pounds per ton, and glutofeed at 13,800 pounds per ton.
According to Dr. Abdulaziz El-Sayed, head of the Poultry Wealth Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, the prices of poultry feed ranged from 23,000 to 25,000 pounds per ton. He also noted that the prices of imported corn continued to fluctuate after being listed on the commodity exchange, and that the prices of feed varied depending on the factory, quality, and protein ratio.
