In celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, observed on October 1st, Egypt's Ministry of Social Solidarity has partnered with the Interior Ministry to offer free medical examinations to elderly residents in care homes. This initiative aims to enhance the care and services provided to seniors, leveraging cooperation between state institutions. As part of this effort, police hospitals will conduct free medical check-ups for elderly residents in care homes under the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
The free medical examinations will be conducted at police hospitals in various locations, including Cairo's city of Nasr and El Agouza, as well as in the cities of Tanta, Alexandria, and Asyut. These examinations will take place every Friday throughout October, from 2 pm to 7 pm. This collaborative initiative seeks to provide essential healthcare services to elderly residents in care homes, promoting their well-being and quality of life.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity has expressed gratitude to the Interior Ministry for its cooperation and commitment to supporting state efforts in caring for elderly citizens. There are currently 201 care homes under the Ministry of Social Solidarity, operating in 22 governorates, with a total of 4,468 elderly residents.
