The Egyptian government has taken a significant step towards enhancing elderly care by introducing eight new protocols. These protocols aim to provide a more comprehensive approach to caring for the elderly, including healthcare, social protection, and economic empowerment. The protocols were signed by Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Elderly Care Fund.

The first protocol is between the Elderly Care Fund and the Egyptian Red Crescent. This partnership aims to utilize the Red Crescent's network of volunteers to provide support and protection to the elderly, particularly those in need and living alone. The collaboration includes incorporating the elderly into emergency response plans and organizing health caravans.

The second protocol is between the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Fund for Supporting Associations and Civil Institutions Projects, the Elderly Care Fund, and the Al-Mahabba Care Foundation. This protocol focuses on enhancing the skills of elderly care providers through training and qualification programs. A total of 100 home healthcare providers will receive training over the course of a year.

The third protocol is between the Elderly Care Fund and the Fund for Supporting Associations and Civil Institutions Projects. This partnership aims to allocate funding to projects and programs that cater to the elderly. The collaboration involves co-financing projects, enhancing the capacity of associations, and establishing a comprehensive database of the elderly in Egypt.

The fourth protocol is between the Elderly Care Fund and the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund. This agreement focuses on economically empowering elderly individuals who are capable of working and contributing their experiences to craft, heritage, and rural industries. The partnership includes financing small and micro projects for the elderly and their families.

The fifth protocol is between the Elderly Care Fund and the National Foundation for Family and Community Development. This collaboration aims to promote the role of families in providing care to the elderly and strengthening intergenerational relationships. The protocol involves implementing programs to raise awareness about the rights of the elderly and providing support to families caring for them.

The sixth protocol is between the Elderly Care Fund and the Abu Al-Einein Charity Foundation. This partnership aims to support elderly individuals in need by providing prosthetic devices and medical supplies.
