Egyptian Minister of Education, Mohamed Abd al-Latif, and Ismailia Governor, Nabil Hasab Allah, have inaugurated the Engineer Abd al-Hamid Abu Bakr Secondary School for Applied Technology, Gas, and Renewable Energy in Fayid, Ismailia. This school is part of the state's efforts to expand applied technology schools and enhance partnerships with the private sector and civil society. The goal is to prepare graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet job market demands, particularly in technological, industrial, and renewable energy sectors.
The new school was opened in the presence of several officials, including Khalid Abu Bakr, industrial partner and founder of the Abu Bakr Foundation for Technical Education and Applied Technology, and Lamis Najm, CEO of the National Charitable Investment Fund for Education. The school aims to provide a comprehensive educational experience that combines theoretical study with practical application, enabling students to acquire the skills and knowledge required by the job market.
Minister Abd al-Latif emphasized that the education ministry is working to expand applied technology schools, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, equipment, and training. He highlighted the importance of linking education to job market needs and providing students with international standards and skills. The ministry is also collaborating with international partners, such as Germany, Italy, and Japan, to develop technical education and provide students with modern skills.
As part of its efforts to enhance technical education, the ministry has introduced coding and artificial intelligence subjects for technical education students this academic year. This aims to equip students with the basic knowledge and skills to deal with technological developments and prepare them for the job market. Additionally, the ministry plans to introduce financial culture subjects for technical education students in the upcoming academic year.
Governor Nabil Hasab Allah stated that the opening of the Engineer Abd al-Hamid Abu Bakr School for Applied Technology represents a significant step in supporting and developing technical and technological education in Ismailia. He highlighted that the school is part of the "Jusur" initiative, launched in Ismailia in October 2024, which aims to support education and prepare qualified cadres to meet job market demands.
The "Jusur" initiative has achieved several important outcomes since its launch, including the opening of the Applied Technology School for Pharmaceutical Industries in Ismailia last year. This initiative aims to integrate educational institutions with production and industrial sectors, providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to compete in the job market.
Khalid Abu Bakr presented the nature of education at the Engineer Abd al-Hamid Abu Bakr Secondary School for Applied Technology, highlighting its modern educational and training environment, specialized laboratories, and solar energy and natural gas stations. These facilities enable students to receive practical training and simulate real work environments, preparing them for careers in applied technology and renewable energy sectors.
