The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has suspended services such as the installation of new electricity meters, changes to subscriber names in electricity contracts, and permits for digging cables. The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has also suspended services including the issuance of new ration cards, replacement of damaged or lost ration cards, and the addition of newborns to ration cards.
The Ministry of Local Development has suspended services such as the issuance or renewal of professional driving licenses, permits for operating public establishments, and road occupation permits. Furthermore, the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities has suspended all services provided by new city authorities, including building permits, licensing, and land allocation services.
The Ministry of Justice has suspended notary and real estate registration services. The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has also suspended services such as the issuance or renewal of hotel and tourism facility licenses, and permits for tourism activities. The Ministry of Labor has suspended services including the issuance or renewal of work permits for foreigners and licenses for certain skilled professions.
The New Urban Communities Authority has suspended all services provided through its technological centers and local units in new cities. These services include requests for building permits, utility connections, and reconciliation and land regularization. The authority has also suspended permits for operating shops and industrial and commercial activities.
The decision to suspend these services aims to encourage individuals to pay their outstanding alimony. The New Urban Communities Authority and the Nasser Social Bank will notify the relevant authorities of individuals who have paid their debts. The suspension of services will be lifted once the individual provides a certificate confirming payment of the outstanding alimony.
