The 30th edition of Autotech 2026 kicked off today at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo, under the patronage of the Ministry of Military Production. The opening ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting event, accompanied by a welcome speech from Hani Khafaji, General Manager of Informa Markets. Several dignitaries attended the ceremony, including Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Moktlu Shen.
The first day of the exhibition included a panel discussion titled "From Import to Made in Egypt: The Journey of Localizing the Automotive Industry in Egypt." The session brought together four experts and specialists to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities related to localizing the industry and enhancing domestic production. The discussion aimed to explore ways to develop the sector's capabilities in the Egyptian market.
According to Hani Khafaji, the automotive sector is a vital industry that is witnessing continuous development, particularly with the government's efforts to promote local production. He emphasized that Autotech is committed to keeping pace with industry developments and supporting its growth. This year's edition features the launch of an international VIP program and an initiative to empower young people, dubbed "Autotech Future Wheelers."
The exhibition aims to enhance its role in supporting the industry by bringing together accumulated experiences and young talents, which is expected to contribute to the sector's growth and open up new horizons for it in Egypt. The 30th edition of Autotech 2026 reflects the growing interest in developing the automotive sector in Egypt and the region. It provides a platform for manufacturers, suppliers, specialists, and decision-makers to network, exchange experiences, and explore partnership opportunities.
The exhibition covers seven main sectors, including spare parts and components, tires and batteries, diagnostics and repair, oils and lubricants, car care and accessories, electronics and systems, and two- and three-wheeled vehicles. It also addresses several issues related to the industry's future, such as localizing production, developing supply chains, investment and international cooperation, digital transformation, and sustainability.
In line with its efforts to develop human capabilities, the exhibition offers training and qualification opportunities through Autotech Academy and its specialized programs. It also supports women's participation through the "Women in Automotive" session and applies environmentally friendly practices during the event, highlighting the importance of sustainability in the automotive sector.
