The authority's virtual hospital, the first of its kind in Africa and the largest in the Middle East, will support Egyptian initiatives on the continent by offering remote specialist medical consultations and training.

El-Sobky and Sherif also discussed medical tourism, reaching a preliminary agreement on a joint working paper to launch a programme for treating African patients in Egypt at discounted rates under the "We Care for You in Egypt" initiative. The paper will identify priority markets and medical services and explore mechanisms for training and transferring Egyptian expertise.
Ambassador Sherif emphasized the importance of medical and economic diplomacy in strengthening Egyptian-African partnerships. He stressed the need to tailor development and investment opportunities to each region's economic and social characteristics and link them to Egyptian capabilities and expertise.
