The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities has signed a contract allocating approximately 25,796.10 square meters of land to the German International University for a university project in New Cairo. The allocated land, numbered 35, is located in the eastern extension of New Cairo, within the Bait Al-Watan services center. This project aims to provide educational services in the new city.
According to Engineer Randa El-Manshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, supporting distinguished educational activities in new cities aligns with the state's vision for integrated urban development. She emphasized that building modern cities involves not only constructing units and buildings but also providing various elements of quality of life, educational, health, and social services.
The Ministry of Housing is working to maximize the utilization of state assets, attract serious investments, and allocate land for projects that generate real developmental value. The ministry prioritizes continuous follow-up to ensure that allocated land is converted into actual projects that serve citizens and support sustainable development in new cities.
Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for Urban Communities, stated that the New Urban Communities Authority adopts a system aimed at enhancing the efficiency of land management and investment, achieving developmental and economic returns, and prioritizing serious projects that can add sustainable services to new cities. The allocation of land for the university project in New Cairo aligns with this approach.
Dr. Ahmed Reza Amr, Supervisor of the Real Estate and Commercial Sector and head of the Central Unit at the New Urban Communities Authority, emphasized that the sector focuses on establishing a system based on seriousness, governance, speedy completion of procedures, and continuous follow-up after allocation. This ensures that the goal is not merely land allocation but also guaranteeing its development and operation.
The contract was signed by Dr. Ahmed Reza Amr on behalf of the New Urban Communities Authority and Dr. Reinhold Lucker, as the director of the German Center for International Studies (GISC), on behalf of the German International University. This agreement supports the strategy of the New Urban Communities Authority to enhance the diversity of activities and investments within new cities.
