The General Authority for Tourism Development in Egypt has issued 16 final allocation decisions for investment plots in the South Marsa Gawash tourism center, located south of Hurghada in the Red Sea governorate. The total area of these plots exceeds 1 million square meters and is intended for a range of tourism projects, including hotels, services, and entertainment. These projects are expected to be implemented according to approved timelines.

Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Randa El-Manshawy, emphasized that the state prioritizes maximizing the utilization of tourism and investment potentials in various tourism areas. The goal is to provide a supportive environment for attracting more investments and implementing integrated projects that contribute to sustainable development and enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of Egyptian tourism destinations.

The expansion of tourism projects aligns with the state's vision to increase the capacity of hotel rooms and strengthen the capabilities of tourist cities and centers. This aims to support the national economy and provide more job opportunities. El-Manshawy confirmed that her ministry and the General Authority for Tourism Development will continue to support serious investments, facilitate procedures, and monitor project implementation according to specified timelines.

Mostafa Abdel Wahab, CEO of the General Authority for Tourism Development, provided details about the allocation decisions. These decisions cover 16 land plots in tourism center plans, totaling over 1 million square meters. The goal is to implement projects that will add approximately 856 hotel rooms, along with managed accommodation units. Additionally, one of the existing projects will see its capacity increased to 946 hotel units.

Abdel Wahab further explained that the decisions include approving the implementation of two water parks, one operated by a global player. There are also plans for tourist service centers and luxury entertainment areas. These developments aim to support existing and future tourism projects, diversify tourism products and services offered to visitors, and ensure that projects are executed according to approved timelines.

The General Authority for Tourism Development is committed to monitoring the implementation of these projects. The objective is to ensure they enter service promptly and achieve the set targets for tourism development in the region. This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance Egypt's tourism sector and capitalize on its rich tourism potential.

The allocated plots are expected to significantly contribute to the growth of Egypt's tourism industry. With a focus on sustainable development and increased investment, these projects will play a crucial role in boosting the national economy and creating new employment opportunities.
