The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has started investigating Adam Musa Adam, a man caught carrying $265,000 at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano State. Adamu reiterated the importance of interagency collaboration in preventing illicit financial flows.

The Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE1 Friday S. Ebelo, received the suspect and exhibits on behalf of the Commission. Ebelo described the handover as an example of meaningful interagency collaboration and a testament to the collective resolve to clean and sanitize the country's financial ecosystem. He expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for creating an enabling environment for the collaboration.

Ebelo commended Adamu and his officers for their vigilance and commitment to enforcing the laws governing cross-border movement of currency. He also thanked the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for the sustained partnership. The EFCC's investigation aims to safeguard the country's economy against illicit financial flows.

The EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, stated that the Commission will further investigate and prosecute the case to its logical conclusion. The investigation is part of the EFCC's mandate to prevent and combat financial crimes in Nigeria. The case highlights the importance of interagency collaboration in preventing illicit financial flows.
