The Technopark Morocco board has appointed Driss Lemjaouri as its new Director General, effective September 18. The decision was made under the chairmanship of Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform. Lemjaouri brings a wealth of experience in the financial and public sectors to his new role. He previously served as Director of Digital Ecosystems and Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, a position he assumed in February 2024.
Before joining the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Lemjaouri worked as a mission officer at the same ministry for a year. His entry into the digital sector followed a long career in financial and regulatory institutions. In 2005, he joined the Caisse Centrale de Garantie, now known as Tamwilcom, as a financial executive. He later moved to the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, where he worked as an internal auditor from 2008 to 2013 and then as head of department from 2013 to 2021.
Lemjaouri's academic background is in finance, management, and organizational studies, with degrees from ENCG Settat, Mohammed V University, and the International University of Rabat. He also holds certificates in work and organizational psychology and IRCA auditing. His experience in the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform involved working on issues directly connected to the ecosystem he will now oversee at Technopark Morocco.
In 2026, Lemjaouri represented the ministry in discussions around DigiTPME, a network designed to support the digital transformation of very small, small, and medium-sized businesses. He emphasized the need to improve access to digital solutions, share best practices, and track the impact of support through indicators and reliable data. Lemjaouri also participated in international events focused on startups and digital transformation, including GITEX Africa in 2025.
At GITEX Africa, Lemjaouri spoke about digital transformation and governance, highlighting the need for digital strategies to respond to local needs. He also pointed out challenges faced by startups, including financing, market access, and the need for suitable legal and fiscal frameworks. Additionally, Lemjaouri was involved in international cooperation around innovation and digital infrastructure, discussing ways to strengthen innovation ecosystems and accelerate the digitalization of smaller businesses.
As the new Director General of Technopark Morocco, Lemjaouri will oversee a network that operates six sites, including five Technoparks and the Cité de l’innovation Souss-Massa. The network has supported 3,000 innovative startups, including 1,400 directly through MITC, and contributed to more than 15,000 direct and indirect jobs. Lemjaouri aims to expand Technopark's services beyond providing workspace to offer incubation, acceleration, access to financing and talent, connections with large companies, market access, and internationalization.
In his first message as Director General, Lemjaouri expressed his vision for Technopark Morocco, emphasizing the need for the organization to evolve into a broader platform supporting startups and innovation. He will work to achieve this vision by leveraging his experience in the financial and public sectors, as well as his knowledge of the digital ecosystem. With Lemjaouri at the helm, Technopark Morocco is expected to continue its efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
