Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. J.Y. Musa, has expressed disappointment in the political leaders of Idoma land for not meeting the developmental needs of the people. He made these remarks during the commissioning of a 23-bed amenity ward and a two-bed intensive care unit at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo, FUHSTHO, in Benue State. The facilities were donated by Chief Godwin Obla.
Dr. Musa stated that the intervention by Chief Obla was necessary due to the failure of political leaders to provide the needed support. He described Obla's initiative as an example of the Idoma spirit required to drive development and take the community to greater heights. Musa emphasized that the kind of leadership demonstrated by Obla is what the community needs.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria commended Obla for bringing together professionals who shared his vision for the development of the area. He noted that it was not easy to assemble people with different professional backgrounds around a common purpose. According to Musa, the professionals involved in the intervention trusted Obla's vision and were willing to contribute their expertise.
Dr. Musa also praised Obla for his role in his professional journey, recalling that Obla supported him in attaining the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2017. Musa described Obla as a destiny helper, explaining that their relationship went beyond friendship. He mentioned that Obla took him to Port Harcourt to introduce him to a friend, an experience he described as instrumental to his professional development.
Musa added that attaining the rank of SAN was not enough without a platform to demonstrate one's professional capacity. He thanked Obla for providing him with such an opportunity. Musa urged the people to recognize and appreciate individuals who make meaningful contributions to the development of Idoma land.
The commissioning of the 23-bed amenity ward and the two-bed intensive care unit is a significant development for FUHSTHO. The facilities were donated by Chief Godwin Obla to improve healthcare services at the university.
