Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged public servants to clearly explain to the public the programs being undertaken by President William Ruto's government. He made the call in Karinga village, Kigumo Constituency, where he inspected the Ikumbi-Karinga-Kinyona-Mairi part of Mau Mau roads and launched the Kinyona Karinga Irrigation project worth Sh293 million. Kindiki emphasized that public servants have a duty to inform the people about the government's efforts to uplift their living standards.

The Deputy President highlighted several development programs in Murang'a, including the construction of three major stadiums and the Mau Mau roads program, which covers 225 kilometers and is expected to cost Sh8.8 billion. The project is scheduled for completion in June next year. Kindiki commended senior public servants, including Sports Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi, and MPs for their role in steering these development programs.

Kindiki also praised Murang'a MPs Betty Maina, Mary Wamaua, and Sabina Chege for their unwavering support for President Ruto's administration despite facing criticism from the opposition. He advised them to remain steadfast in their support for the government, despite threats that they may not be elected in the next year's elections. The Deputy President noted that some elected leaders had panicked and developed cold feet in the face of opposition.

On the issue of heavy rains, Kindiki warned Kenyans living in landslide-prone areas to be vigilant and listen to security officers in case of detected dangers during the rainy season. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring the safety of all Kenyans and providing cautionary advice from weather experts and security officers. The Deputy President specifically advised people in Murang'a to remain on high alert during the rainy season.

Kindiki also announced that the government has procured 670 milk coolers to be distributed across the country to support increased milk production. He stated that the milk coolers will be distributed to farmers early in the year, with Murang'a given special preference due to its demonstrated strategies to increase production. The Deputy President emphasized that the government is committed to supporting farmers and promoting agricultural development.

In addition, Kindiki vowed to lead a crackdown on illicit liquor manufacturers and distributors, warning that the government will not spare those behind the production and sale of cheap brews. He advised leaders to support the crusade against illicit liquor in the interest of future generations. Lands and Housing Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome also spoke at the event, highlighting the state's investment of Sh27 billion in affordable housing programs and modern markets in Murang'a.

The event was a demonstration of the government's commitment to development and service delivery in Murang'a. The Deputy President's visit and the launch of the Kinyona Karinga Irrigation project underscored the government's focus on improving infrastructure and supporting local communities. With the government's emphasis on development and public service, residents of Murang'a can expect further investments in infrastructure and social services.
