President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh received the mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Houssein Muungaab, at the Palace of the Republic on Wednesday.
The visit comes as Djibouti has the potential to serve as a model for development, particularly in terms of logistics and port facilities, for Somalia. The mayor of Mogadishu thanked the people and authorities of Djibouti for their welcome and hospitality.
Potential for Development Cooperation
According to Mayor Said Daoud Mohamed, the visit should allow for partnerships in economic development, municipal governance, urban planning, culture, and sports. The mayor of Mogadishu was accompanied by a delegation including the president of the International Chamber of Commerce of Somalia, Yacin Mohamud Ibar.
