Djibouti's Minister of Energy, Dr. Djama Mohamed Hassan, chaired the closing ceremony of two training sessions focused on renewable energy and photovoltaic systems. The event took place at the Ministry of Energy's auditorium and was attended by Egyptian Ambassador Abdelrahman Raafat Khattab, trainers, high officials, and ministry personnel. The sessions, conducted by Egyptian experts from September 27 to October 1, aimed to enhance the technical skills of Djibouti's energy sector engineers.

The training sessions covered modern renewable energy systems and the design, sizing, and installation of photovoltaic systems. The goal was to equip Djiboutian professionals with the necessary theoretical and practical tools to master the entire value chain of renewable energies, particularly solar energy. This initiative is part of the bilateral energy cooperation between Djibouti and Egypt, reflecting their shared desire to strengthen historical relations and promote knowledge sharing.

Egyptian coordinator of the training program, Neesma Mohamed, highlighted her country's policy of enhancing electrical capacity and skills for African engineers. She emphasized the bilateral energy cooperation between Egypt and Djibouti, noting that Djibouti has actively participated in training sessions in Cairo since 2016. Over 183 trainees from Djibouti have benefited from more than 58 training sessions on various topics.

Egyptian Ambassador Abdelrahman Raafat Khattab stressed the importance of the training program, which goes beyond its technical aspects and contributes to human resource development. He affirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnership with Djibouti, praising the efforts of the Djiboutian government and expressing his country's willingness to launch new initiatives for the population.

In his closing remarks, Minister Dr. Djama Mohamed Hassan expressed the Djiboutian government's gratitude to Egypt for its constant support and the quality of expertise transfer. He thanked the Egyptian trainers for their availability and professionalism, congratulated the beneficiary engineers and cadres, and encouraged them to apply their acquired knowledge and skills for the development of the national energy sector.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of training certificates to the recipients, marking the success of the two capacity-building sessions. These sessions are part of Djibouti's national energy policy, focused on developing clean energies and promoting energy transition and national skills.

The event reflects the excellent relations of friendship, cooperation, and historical ties between Djibouti and Egypt. It demonstrates their shared willingness to consolidate a strategic and sustainable energy partnership based on expertise sharing, green innovation, and renewable energy development for the benefit of their populations.
