The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Energy's lecture hall and was attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Djibouti, Abdel Rahman Raft Khattab, experts, trainers, and senior officials.
The training programs covered the latest renewable energy technologies, design of photovoltaic systems, load calculation, capacity determination, installation methods, and maintenance. Dr. Hassan expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Egyptian government in enhancing national capacities and praised the efforts of Egyptian experts and trainers in sharing their knowledge and expertise with Djiboutian staff. He also congratulated the engineers and staff who benefited from the program and encouraged them to apply their acquired knowledge and skills to develop the national energy sector.
Egyptian Ambassador to Djibouti, Abdel Rahman Raft Khattab, emphasized that the program represents a model of bilateral cooperation in human resource development and knowledge transfer. He reiterated Egypt's commitment to continuing its support and partnership with Djibouti. The Egyptian coordinator of the training program, Nesma Mohamed, highlighted the importance of technical cooperation between the two countries and noted that Djibouti has benefited from training programs organized in Cairo since 2016.
A total of 183 Djiboutian trainees have benefited from over 58 training courses in various fields. The two programs aimed to equip Djiboutian staff with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to keep pace with developments in solar energy and enhance their capacities in designing, installing, operating, and maintaining photovoltaic systems. The training programs were conducted by Egyptian experts and trainers.
The closing ceremony included the distribution of certificates to the participants, reflecting the depth of cooperation between Djibouti and Egypt and their commitment to developing partnership and exchanging expertise in renewable energy. Dr. Hassan emphasized the importance of such programs in supporting Djibouti's transition to clean energy.
