The Regional Employment and Vocational Training Administration, in collaboration with the Regional Branch of the Solidarity Bank in the governorate of Manouba, Tunisia, has distributed 11 notices to finance small projects and create jobs. The beneficiaries include six people with disabilities and five vulnerable individuals with limited income. The total value of the projects to be financed exceeds 90,000 Tunisian dinars.
The support for these projects ranges from 5,000 dinars per loan for people with disabilities in sectors such as food production and tobacco sales, to 10,000 dinars per loan for vulnerable groups with limited income in sectors like livestock farming and fattening. This initiative aims to help beneficiaries establish and develop their activities, achieve economic and social returns, and ensure the sustainability of their projects.
The distribution of these notices took place during a meeting at the Manouba governorate, under the supervision of the governor, Mahmoud Chouieb, and the first deputy governor, Mehdi Abbayedi. The meeting also included the regional director of employment and the head of the cell, Hussein Eljmi. The goal is to encourage beneficiaries to establish and gradually develop their activities.
This new batch of notices follows the completion of the beneficiaries' application files and all necessary procedures, which were submitted through the electronic platform prepared to accept applications for this program. The platform is hosted on the "Wab" website of the Solidarity Bank and the bank's regional cell. The remaining applications are still under review.
A total of 700,000 dinars has been allocated for the program to finance vulnerable groups and those with limited income in the region. So far, 200 applications have been approved, and the committees will continue their work until the end of 2026. Additionally, 160,000 dinars have been allocated for the program to promote the economic and social integration of people with disabilities, and the entire amount has been utilized.
These loans are granted without interest, without requiring a self-financing contribution, and without guarantees. The repayment period is eight years, including two years of grace. Meanwhile, the Solidarity Bank's regional cell has accepted 300 applications for loans under the program to support the competitiveness of institutions and the economic empowerment of citizens.
The program aims to support citizens who wish to start or expand their projects, and it offers loans of up to 200,000 dinars for holders of higher diplomas and 150,000 dinars for other entrepreneurs. This initiative is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training and will continue until the end of next year.
