The seventh edition of Afro Nation Portugal will take place from June 9 to 11, 2027, at Praia da Rocha in Portimão, Portugal. The festival, which has been running for seven years, is one of the biggest events celebrating Afrobeats and Amapiano music. This year's event will feature 30 artists, including top African musicians. Davido, Rema, and Fally Ipupa have been announced as the three main headliners for the festival.
The festival will feature two stages: the Lit Stage and the Piano People Stage. The Lit Stage will host Omah Lay, Odeal, Shenseea, Valiant, Victony, Bamby, and Miimii KDS, among others. The stage will also feature a project called South Gidi, which brings together DJs Tunez and DJ Maphorisa, and will close the festival with a performance featuring Wizkid and Mavo.
The Piano People Stage will feature Kabza De Small, known for his contribution to Amapiano music, and the band TxC. They will perform alongside Dlala Thukzin, who will be a special guest, as well as 031Choppa, 2woBunnies, Benzo, Thatohatsi, Uncool MC, W4DE, Xduppy B2B Al Xapo, Young Stunna, and Zee Nxumalo.
Afro Nation Portugal has a history of showcasing top African talent, particularly from Nigeria. Since its inception in 2019, the festival has hosted notable artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Megan Thee Stallion, 50 Cent, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj. The festival has played a significant role in promoting Afrobeats and Amapiano music globally.
Last year's edition of the festival took place in July 2026, with Wizkid and Asake as the main headliners, followed by Burna Boy. The Piano People stage was led by Uncle Waffles, while Gunna and Kehlani made special appearances. Rema, who will headline this year's event, previously performed at Afro Nation Portugal in 2024 alongside Asake, J Hus, and Tyla.
Davido and Fally Ipupa will also be returning to the festival, with Davido having previously performed and Fally Ipupa making a comeback after last year's appearance. The festival has expanded to other locations, including Ghana, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Detroit, but the Portugal edition remains the main event, attracting thousands of music fans worldwide.
