The Aliko Dangote Foundation has introduced a Student Share Grant Initiative, providing Nigerian students aged 18 and above with 10 free shares in Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE. To qualify, students must subscribe for a minimum of 10 shares in the ongoing Initial Public Offering. This initiative aims to promote financial literacy, responsible investing, and long-term wealth creation among young Nigerians. Eligible students can apply through the designated platform.

Chairman of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, stated that the program offers practical exposure to investment and ownership. He emphasized that supporting young people goes beyond education, and equipping them with knowledge and opportunities to participate in economic growth is crucial. Dangote believes that early exposure to investment opportunities can shape young people's future financial decisions and encourage greater participation in the formal economy.

The initiative is open to students from recognized public and private tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Eligible students who complete the verification process and subscribe for at least 10 DPRP shares will qualify for the Foundation to fund an application for an additional 10 shares in their names at no extra cost. The Chief Executive Officer of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Mrs Zouera Youssoufou, said the program combines financial education with practical experience in the capital market.

Youssoufou emphasized that financial literacy becomes more impactful when people can apply what they learn. This program allows eligible students to experience first-hand how the investment process works, from verification and subscription to allotment and ownership. The initiative aims to encourage sustained interest in investment and asset ownership among young Nigerians.

To participate, eligible students must complete the verification process through the designated Foundation platform before being directed to the subscription channel. The scheme cannot be used to purchase shares on behalf of another person, another Dangote company, or any other company. The Foundation stressed that participation is voluntary and should not be interpreted as investment advice or a recommendation to acquire DPRP shares.

Prospective participants are urged to carefully review the IPO documentation and consider the relevant risks before making investment decisions. The Student Share Grant Initiative is a standalone Foundation program aimed at promoting financial literacy and investment participation.

The program seeks to inspire a lifelong interest in financial literacy, investing, and asset ownership among young Nigerians. The knowledge and experience gained through this initiative can serve as a foundation for sound financial decision-making throughout their lives.
