Popular Nigerian singer Dapo Oyebabanjo, known as D'banj or Koko Master, has made a significant donation to his lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi. On Thursday, in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, D'banj gifted Olajengbesi three brand new Sienna space buses. This generous act is in support of Olajengbesi's ambition to represent Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election. The donation was announced by Olajengbesi himself through a Facebook post on Friday.

According to Olajengbesi, the idea for the donation began about two weeks prior. D'banj had reached out to him for the contact information of the person responsible for his campaign branding. D'banj needed to brand a vehicle for his CREAM project, which is designed to support young creatives. Olajengbesi shared the contact details, and subsequently, D'banj surprised him with the three fully branded Sienna space buses.

Olajengbesi expressed his gratitude and surprise at the donation. Upon receiving the vehicles, he immediately called D'banj to thank him. D'banj's response was simple: "It's my token of support." Olajengbesi emphasized that he does not take this gesture for granted, calling it an act of love and huge support. He highlighted that this and other recent acts of support from various individuals have reinforced his sense of responsibility towards his constituency.

Pelumi Olajengbesi is not new to politics. He previously contested for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat in 2019. Currently, he serves as the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Osun State. Recently, he gained more visibility when he acted as the campaign spokesman for the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke, the uncle of popular Afrobeats star Davido, during the August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

The donation from D'banj comes at a time when Olajengbesi's ambition to enter the House of Representatives has gained more momentum. His efforts have also received endorsement from notable figures in the entertainment industry. Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, recently endorsed Olajengbesi's bid for the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat. This public show of support from both D'banj and Davido could potentially boost Olajengbesi's chances in the upcoming election.

Pelumi Olajengbesi turned 40 in August and appears determined more than ever to succeed in his political career. His journey into politics has seen various ups and downs, but the support from influential figures like D'banj and Davido could play a crucial role in his quest to represent his constituency. As the election approaches, it will be interesting to see how this and other endorsements impact his campaign.

The donation of the three Sienna space buses by D'banj not only highlights the strong bond between the musician and his lawyer but also underscores the importance of support in political campaigns. With this gesture, D'banj has publicly declared his support for Olajengbesi's political ambition, which could inspire other well-wishers to follow suit. As Olajengbesi prepares for the 2027 election, such acts of solidarity are likely to be pivotal in his campaign.
