The cultural project "Sufouh Mabda'a" was launched on October 8, 2026, at Ain Jefal elementary school in Jelmah, Sidi Bouzid governorate. The initiative is led by the Regional Cultural Affairs Delegation of Sidi Bouzid and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with several other departments, including Education and civil society actors.
The project, which won support from the "Magrumin" program in the fourth region, involves a mobile artistic unit that will visit three rural schools in mountainous areas across Jelmah, Mzouna, and Sbalta delegations. Its primary objective is to integrate young people in vulnerable situations through culture and sports, promoting social inclusion and community development.
On the first day of the event, several workshops were organized, focusing on music, theater, cinema, visual arts, recycling, handicrafts, digital storytelling, reading, and sports games. Additionally, awareness-raising activities were conducted to educate children about the risks associated with certain behaviors and how to mitigate them. The event also featured entertaining performances for children, accompanied by motivational prizes.
The project will continue on October 9, 2026, at Hedaj 1 and 2 elementary schools in Mzouna delegation, and on October 14, 2026, at Ayoun elementary school in Sbalta delegation. These events aim to engage young people and provide them with a platform for creative expression and social interaction.
According to Yassine Saidi, director of the Sbalta Cultural Center, "Sufouh Mabda'a" is an activation project that seeks to promote cultural and sporting activities among young people in rural areas. The initiative is designed to provide a supportive environment for children to develop their skills and build their confidence.
The project's activities are aligned with the goals of promoting social inclusion, combating dropout rates, and fostering a sense of community among young people in rural areas. By providing a range of cultural and sporting activities, the project aims to empower young people and enhance their opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The launch of "Sufouh Mabda'a" reflects the Tunisian government's commitment to promoting cultural and sporting activities as a means of social integration and community development. The project's success will depend on its ability to engage young people and provide them with meaningful opportunities for creative expression and social interaction.
