On October 12, 2026, Crown Prince Moulay Hassan presided over the opening ceremony of the 17th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center. The event is being held under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI and carries the theme “Horses in the Service of Man.” This year’s edition will run until October 18.
The Crown Prince’s presence at the event reflects the King’s continued support for the equestrian sector and his commitment to its sustainable development, from horse breeding to international competitions. Upon arrival, Prince Moulay Hassan was greeted by several dignitaries, including Moulay Abdullah Alawi, President of the El Jadida Horse Show Association.
The Crown Prince was then briefed on a ceremonial display by a detachment of the Royal Guard before being saluted by various officials, including the Governor of El Jadida Province, the President of the El Jadida Regional Council, and the General Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests.
Prince Moulay Hassan also greeted several ambassadors and dignitaries from countries such as Turkey, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, who were present as guests of honor at the event. These included Mustafa Elker Kiliç, Turkish Ambassador to Morocco, and Khalid S. Ahmed Bamkhalif, Omani Ambassador to Morocco.
During his visit, the Crown Prince toured various sections of the exhibition, including areas dedicated to equestrian institutions, breeders, traditional crafts, and an international village. He also visited a children’s area called “Faris in a Journey Through Morocco,” which aims to introduce young people to Morocco’s rich equestrian heritage.
The Crown Prince then attended a demonstration of equestrian skills by Moroccan and foreign equestrian teams in the main arena. This was followed by a display of traditional Moroccan horsemanship, known as “Tbourida,” performed by 18 groups representing different regions of Morocco. Tbourida is a centuries-old tradition that combines horsemanship, coordination, and adherence to Morocco’s cultural heritage.
The event also includes a range of scientific, cultural, and entertainment activities, such as competitions, conferences, and workshops. Notably, the King Mohammed VI Grand Prize for Show Jumping has been elevated to a five-star category, further enhancing the international reputation of the El Jadida Horse Show.
