The Logone Occidental Provincial Council, in collaboration with local leaders and residents, recently held a ceremony in Moundou to distribute equipment to nine health centers and six community radios. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare services and local information dissemination. The event was attended by administrative authorities, local officials, and representatives from various sectors.

The nine health centers received essential medical kits and generators to improve their functionality, especially in areas with limited access to electricity. Similarly, six community radios were each provided with a generator to ensure continuous operation. This effort is part of a broader initiative by local leaders and residents who mobilized during the third General Census of Population and Housing.

The equipment distribution is a result of the mobilization of local leaders and residents during the census. They organized activities such as sensitization, community mobilization, and logistical support. The remaining materials were then utilized to benefit the population, prioritizing essential sectors like healthcare and community communication.

Denenoudji Sylla, secretary of the Logone Occidental Provincial Council, praised the initiative as a demonstration of solidarity and civic engagement among the province's people. She also expressed gratitude to the Minister of Public Health and Prevention for providing additional medical supplies and equipment.

The new equipment is expected to improve healthcare services, particularly in areas facing electricity shortages and limited resources. The availability of essential medications and medical equipment will enhance patient care in the beneficiary centers. Community radios play a vital role in information dissemination, education, and public awareness on health, security, and local development issues.

The beneficiaries' managers were urged to manage the donations responsibly, using the medications according to patient needs and following the rules. Regular maintenance of the generators and equipment was also emphasized to ensure their durability. The provincial delegate of Public Health, Ongram Kouleta, stressed the importance of responsible equipment use and commended the engagement of local leaders and residents.

The initiative is seen as a starting point for stronger mobilization around development priorities, including education, access to clean water, sanitation, youth, social cohesion, and peaceful coexistence. The goal is to build a more prosperous and solidary Logone Occidental, with collective efforts from all stakeholders.
