Central Equatoria State Governor, Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, has directed the newly appointed caretaker ministers to prioritize the protection of public resources and government assets during their tenure. The directive was issued during the swearing-in ceremony of the state’s caretaker ministers at the government secretariat in Juba. Jadalla emphasized the importance of accountability and proper care of the offices entrusted to them. He stated that the offices are not personal property, but rather a trust to be managed for the benefit of the people.

Jadalla instructed the caretaker ministers to exercise integrity, humility, discipline, and commitment while implementing the caretaker government’s mandate in line with national directives and the laws of South Sudan. He clarified that their sole mandate and responsibility is to prepare the people of Central Equatoria State for peaceful, credible, and orderly elections. The caretaker ministers are expected to collaborate with relevant institutions and stakeholders to create an environment where citizens can participate freely and peacefully before and during the poll.

The caretaker ministers have been tasked with promoting civic awareness, dialogue, and peaceful political participation. They are also expected to discourage hate speech, intimidation, violence, and political provocation during the election period to safeguard peace and stability in the state. Jadalla highlighted Central Equatoria as a diverse state, emphasizing the need to embrace diversity to strengthen unity. He urged the caretaker ministers to promote unity and reconciliation among the communities.

The caretaker ministers include John Ijino Lako, Minister of Finance, Planning, and Investment; Naphtali Hassan Ghale, Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency; Joseph Pitia Kenyi Yikwach, Minister of Information and Telecommunication; Rina Dongo Stella Vincent, Minister of Health; Lupai Satimon Andrew, Minister of General Education and Instruction; Misuk Moses Mule Enoka, Minister of Roads, Bridges, and Physical Infrastructure; and Lily Kapuki Jurkin, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.

John Ijino Lako, Caretaker Minister of Finance, Planning, and Investment, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, expressed their commitment to loyalty to the government and the oath they had taken.
