In celebration of Guinea's Independence Week, the Ministry of Youth, in collaboration with the National Youth Insertion Fund (FONIJ), brought together 500 young people from different regions of the country. The main objective of this gathering was to provide a platform for exchange, training, and orientation on socio-economic integration opportunities offered by the state. The event was opened by Abdourahmane Baldé, Director General of FONIJ.
The Director General of FONIJ emphasized that the fight against youth unemployment requires a collective effort and synergy between all state structures. He stressed that FONIJ alone cannot achieve this goal and that the Ministry of Youth has taken the lead in associating national directions and attached services to present the available opportunities. Aïssatou Soumah, on behalf of the National Director of Youth and Socio-Educational Activities, detailed the regulatory framework and support offered to associative initiatives. She praised the minister's leadership and highlighted the ministry's role in elaborating strategies and plans for youth.
Souleymane Fofana, responsible for the connection of the Identification and Orientation Center for Young People for Employment, explained the process of reception and individual follow-up to maximize the chances of success for candidates. He detailed the complete pathway proposed by the structure, which includes a 9-month program covering life skills, qualifying training, and business plan accompaniment.
The representative of the Guinean Agency for the Execution of Public Interest Works for Employment (AGETIPE) highlighted the agency's contribution to the creation of direct jobs through infrastructure development. He presented the agency's mission to offer work-schools and concrete opportunities for professional immersion, allowing young people to combine practical training and infrastructure construction.
The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the exchange and learning experience. Alsény Kalabane, a participant from the interior of the country, shared his feelings and commitment to putting the acquired knowledge into practice. He praised the training as beneficial and expressed his readiness to apply what he learned.
