Moroccan companies Cash Plus and Damanesign have announced a partnership to facilitate access to qualified electronic signature certificates. The partnership allows users to deposit their applications and undergo identity verification at one of Cash Plus' participating agencies. The collaboration aims to simplify the process of obtaining electronic signatures, which are increasingly required for administrative and professional transactions.
The partnership involves Cash Plus acting as a delegated registration authority, with 13 agencies in 11 cities initially participating. These agencies will serve as deposit and withdrawal points for users. The cities involved are Agadir, Casablanca, Dakhla, Fès, Kénitra, Laâyoune, Marrakech, Nador, Oujda, Rabat, and Tanger. This initiative targets companies, public establishments, and regulated professions, such as notaries, experts, and lawyers.
The electronic signature certificates issued by Damanesign will be stored on a secure USB key, which can be used for various operations, including customs declarations, public markets, and supplier registration. The partnership aims to contribute to the dematerialization of administrative and professional procedures, which is becoming increasingly prevalent. By combining their expertise, Cash Plus and Damanesign hope to promote the adoption of digital practices among economic actors.
The partnership is part of the implementation of Law No. 43-20 on trust services for electronic transactions. Damanesign, an approved trust service provider by the General Directorate for Information System Security (DGSSI), is responsible for issuing the certificates. Cash Plus' role is to provide proximity and support to users, while Damanesign ensures the delivery of certificates and their compliance with applicable requirements.
According to Nabil Amar, CEO of Cash Plus, the partnership aims to bring useful services closer to clients' daily professional lives. By making certain agencies available as deposit and withdrawal points, Cash Plus contributes to making the process more accessible and simpler for concerned companies and professionals. Zouhair Hamdaoui, CEO of Damanesign, emphasized that the partnership allows for the combination of technological expertise and physical proximity to support the development of digital trust practices.
The partnership between Cash Plus and Damanesign is expected to facilitate the adoption of digital practices among economic actors. By providing a clear and accessible process, the companies aim to promote the use of electronic signatures, which are becoming increasingly necessary for various transactions. The collaboration also highlights the importance of trust services in electronic transactions, as emphasized by the Moroccan law on trust services.
The partnership is set to enhance the inclusion of digital practices in Morocco's economic landscape. With the increasing dematerialization of administrative and professional procedures, the need for secure and accessible electronic signature solutions is growing. Cash Plus and Damanesign's collaboration is a step towards addressing this need, and their efforts are expected to have a positive impact on the country's digital economy.
