Since October 3, 2026, Casablanca has been hosting a new leg of the large-scale national exhibition "60 Years of Visual Art in Morocco," organized by the Moroccan Association of Professional Visual Artists under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI and supported by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Culture Sector. This exhibition offers a comprehensive reading of six decades of Moroccan visual art, featuring selected works that bring together pioneers of the movement and contemporary generations.
The Casablanca leg of the exhibition is spread across four venues, starting with the media library of the Hassan II Mosque, which hosted the exhibition from October 3 to 17. The exhibition then moved to the Higher School of Fine Arts from October 6 to 25, followed by the Nadar Gallery from October 7 to 30, and the Mine d'Art Gallery from October 8 to 28. This allows the public to discover diverse experiences that reflect the multiplicity of Moroccan visual art schools and trends.
The exhibition aims to provide a comprehensive vision of the national visual art scene, without limiting itself to a particular stage or experience. Alongside the works of pioneer artists, the exhibition features works by artists from successive generations, including contemporary and young artists who continue to research, experiment, and renew the visual language. The organizers believe that this diversity reflects the path of Moroccan visual art as a continuous experience.
The exhibition also honors artists who have contributed to building the national artistic memory and confirms the pivotal role of visual arts in cultural development and promoting Morocco's influence at the national and international levels. The exhibition is accompanied by the publication of a special art book documenting its stations and the experiences of participating artists.
The Casablanca leg is part of a national tour of the exhibition that includes several major cities in the kingdom, aiming to expand interaction with Moroccan visual art and bring artists' works closer to the public in different regions. According to the organizers, this leg represents a meeting point for artists, works, the public, and cultural actors.
The exhibition features works by artists from different generations, providing a unique opportunity for the public to engage with the rich and diverse history of Moroccan visual art. The exhibition's national tour aims to promote cultural exchange and understanding, highlighting the importance of visual arts in Moroccan culture.
