In line with its efforts to enhance students' capabilities in the digital era, Capital University's College of Education recently hosted a workshop titled "Digital Skills for University Students: Tools of the Knowledge Era." The event was part of the college's activities to welcome the new academic year 2026-2027. The workshop was attended by around 55 students via Microsoft Teams.
The workshop was held under the auspices of Dr. Qandil, President of Capital University, Dr. Walid Al-Sarwagi, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Hossam Hamdi, Dean of the College of Education. Dr. Mona Abu Hashima, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, supervised the event, which was implemented by Dr. Mahmoud Fawzi, Director of the Education Technology Center.
Dr. Qandil emphasized that digital transformation and artificial intelligence have become influential tools in developing the educational process. He highlighted the importance of equipping university students with skills to deal consciously with technology, enabling them to access reliable sources of knowledge and utilize digital tools in learning, research, and content production.
Dr. Walid Al-Sarwagi stressed that building a university student capable of keeping pace with digital transformations is a fundamental part of the university's mission. He pointed out that possessing digital skills is no longer an option but a necessity that enables students to learn continuously and adapt to future requirements and job market demands.
The workshop covered several practical topics, including basic digital skills necessary for university life, research tools, and access to digital sources and information. It also addressed how to employ digital platforms and tools in studying and preparing projects, as well as tools for preparing presentations and digital content.
The event witnessed active participation from students, who engaged in discussions and explored practical applications of digital tools and artificial intelligence in their academic lives. The workshop aimed to enhance students' digital awareness and equip them with the skills necessary to succeed in the digital age.
