World Harvest Bible College & Seminary, Calabar, has graduated over 100 pastors and ministry leaders in its Class of 2026. The graduands were drawn from various programmes, including Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor of Arts in Theology, and Postgraduate programmes. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the institution, which has been working towards becoming a centre of excellence in theological education.
The Provost of the seminary, Rev. Dr. Daniel Ukene, announced that the graduands were examined and found worthy in both learning and character. He highlighted four major strides recorded in the 2025/2026 session, including the establishment of a Directorate of Academic Planning for quality assurance and accreditation. This move is expected to enhance the institution's academic standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
In addition to the establishment of the Directorate of Academic Planning, Ukene disclosed that the college has secured government approval for a campus health facility. This development is expected to improve the health and wellbeing of students and staff. Furthermore, the institution has experienced a significant increase in staff strength, which will enable it to provide better academic and administrative support to its students.
A major breakthrough for the institution is the approval from its affiliate institution, University of Calabar (UNICAL), for additional diploma programmes. This development will expand the institution's academic offerings and provide students with more opportunities for academic advancement. According to Ukene, these achievements are indicators of the institution's steady growth towards becoming a centre of excellence in theological education.
During the graduation ceremony, guest speaker Pastor Joseph Okoro urged the graduands to live out their faith beyond the pulpit. He emphasized the need for them to minister effectively in a society faced with economic hardship and changing values. Okoro's message was aimed at encouraging the graduands to be practical in their application of Christian teachings and to make a positive impact in their communities.
Speaking on behalf of the class, Mrs. Kathryn Godswill Emmanuel described the training as a call to transform lives. She acknowledged the institution's role in equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for effective ministry. The graduands were charged to remain faithful to the Word, to character, and to the mission, with a focus on meeting the spiritual needs of their communities.
