The municipal council of Seydougou, Côte d'Ivoire, has donated educational materials, recreational equipment, and school kits to preschools and primary schools in Seydougou, Balala, Badioula-Kohouena, and Kabala. This initiative aims to improve learning conditions for students. The donations were made on October 28, 2026, and were financed by the 2026 municipal budget, with support from the Korodougou Cashew Producers Cooperative (CPNK COOP-CA).

The preschools received four simple slides, four slides with swings, four merry-go-rounds, four squirrel-type swings, four squirrel cages, 100 small chairs, 30 children's tables, and 100 mats. These recreational equipment will provide students with a conducive learning environment. The primary schools, on the other hand, received 600 desks and 400 school kits to enhance their equipment and facilitate learning.

The donations were made to support schools and families in the Seydougou commune of the Gbéléban department, in the Kabadougou region. According to Abdoulaye Diarrasouba, first deputy mayor, representing the mayor, Fofana Vakaba, this initiative demonstrates the municipal team's commitment to making education a lever for local development.

Diarrasouba emphasized that education is a priority and that investing in schools is essential for preparing Seydougou's future and giving children the means to succeed. He commended the CPNK COOP-CA, led by Mamadou Cissé, for its contribution, highlighting the importance of solidarity between local authorities and economic actors in supporting community development.

Oumar Kanté, representing the Gbéléban Preschool and Primary Education Inspectorate, praised the municipal council's gesture and urged teachers to redouble their efforts to improve the quality of learning and academic results. Kanté's sentiments were echoed by the Seydougou sub-prefect, Adam Yédjoukpahan Coulibaly, who encouraged beneficiaries to use the equipment responsibly and ensure its conservation for future generations.

Coulibaly recommended that the equipment be used with care and rigor to serve multiple generations and enable the mairie to undertake other projects. The donations are expected to have a positive impact on the education sector in Seydougou, enhancing the learning experience for students and providing teachers with the necessary tools to deliver quality education.

The event highlights the importance of collaboration between local authorities and stakeholders in promoting education and community development in Côte d'Ivoire. The municipal council's initiative is a testament to its commitment to improving the lives of Seydougou's residents, particularly children, by providing them with the resources they need to succeed.
