The Prefect of Agnibilékrou, Arnaud Mathieu Kouakou Kouadio, has urged the educational community to work together to improve learning outcomes and school performance. He made the call during a departmental meeting on September 30, 2026, which aimed to review the previous academic year and set priorities for the upcoming year. The meeting brought together various stakeholders, including local authorities, education officials, and community representatives.

The meeting was attended by the Regional Director of Education, Literacy, and Technical Education, Coulibaly Appa Patrice, and gathered the prefectural corps, elected officials, school heads, and service chiefs. The gathering also included representatives from local communities, women's groups, and youth organizations. According to the Regional Director, the results of the 2025-2026 academic year in the Indénié-Djuablin region show a mixed picture.

The region recorded a 86.89% pass rate in the Certificate of Primary Education (CEPE), but only 49.30% in the Brevet d'Études du Premier Cycle (BEPC). The Baccalauréat pass rate was 24.27%, significantly lower than the national average of 40.60%. These results, according to Coulibaly, require in-depth analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.

The Regional Director emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and disciplined school environment, promoting citizenship, and adhering to the "La Côte d'Ivoire à l'École" slogan. He stressed that these factors are crucial in improving school performance. The Prefect, in his remarks, called on all stakeholders to take responsibility for improving school performance and ensuring a safe working environment for teachers.

Recently, a director of a school in Nianda was attacked by a parent, highlighting the need for increased security measures. The Prefect urged all actors to work together to address this challenge and ensure that schools provide a safe and conducive learning environment. The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and identify solutions to the challenges facing the education sector in the region.

The Prefect's call for collective action reflects the government's commitment to improving education outcomes in Côte d'Ivoire. The country's education sector has faced several challenges in recent years, including inadequate infrastructure, teacher shortages, and low academic performance. The government has launched several initiatives aimed at addressing these challenges and enhancing the quality of education.

The departmental meeting in Agnibilékrou is part of a broader effort to engage stakeholders and promote collaboration in the education sector. By working together, stakeholders can identify effective solutions to the challenges facing the sector and implement strategies to improve school performance. The meeting's outcome is expected to contribute to the development of a comprehensive plan to enhance education outcomes in the region.
