The populations of Jacqueville, Côte d'Ivoire, were recently instructed on the missions, achievements, and projects of the Financial Services Quality Observatory of Côte d'Ivoire (OQSF-CI) during a sensitization and information meeting organized at the local town hall. This meeting aimed to bridge the gap between financial institutions and consumers, fostering trust and transparency in the financial sector.

The OQSF-CI, created by decree in December 2016 and officially opened in 2019, operates under the Ministry of Finance and Budget. Its primary role is to serve as an interface between financial institutions and consumers, promoting a culture of transparency and quality in financial services. The observatory's establishment reflects the government's efforts to enhance financial inclusion and protect consumer rights.

The Secretary Executive of OQSF-CI, Léocadie Brou Yao, highlighted the organization's key missions, which include monitoring the financial sector's transparency and quality, evaluating services, educating the public on financial matters, and protecting consumers. To achieve these objectives, the OQSF-CI has developed various tools, such as evaluation barometers, a website with mobile deployments and integrated artificial intelligence, a comparator, and a simulator.

These tools have facilitated significant engagement, with approximately 10,000 individuals interconnected, over three million SMS exchanges, and 2.5 million interactions with the artificial intelligence system. Additionally, the observatory has assisted over 370 individuals in resolving conflicts with financial institutions. Léocadie Brou Yao encouraged participants to contribute to the project's success by becoming co-constructors of this initiative.

The Secretary General of Jacqueville's Prefecture, Ouattara Gervais, commended the initiative, emphasizing its potential to enhance trust between users and financial service providers. He urged the local population, economic operators, traders, youth, students, and association leaders to familiarize themselves with and utilize the available tools, promoting a culture of financial awareness within the community.

The sensitization meeting in Jacqueville is part of a broader effort to extend the observatory's reach and impact across Côte d'Ivoire. By educating the public about the OQSF-CI's roles and tools, the organization aims to empower consumers and promote a more transparent and accountable financial sector. This initiative aligns with the government's goals of enhancing financial inclusion and protecting consumer rights.

Ultimately, the success of the OQSF-CI's mission depends on the active participation and engagement of the public. By working together, the observatory, financial institutions, and consumers can build a more trustworthy and efficient financial system, contributing to Côte d'Ivoire's economic growth and development.
