Côte d'Ivoire's Minister of State Portfolio and Public Enterprises, Mariatou Koné, conducted an inspection of the nearly completed construction site of the Directorate General of State Portfolio (DGPE) headquarters in Abidjan on September 23, 2026. The project, located on Avenue Terrasson de Fougères in the Plateau district, is 90% complete and expected to be delivered in November 2026.
The DGPE headquarters is being built on a 1,062 square meter plot and will feature nine floors and three underground levels. Once completed, the building will consolidate all DGPE services under one roof, in line with the government's goal of improving their operations and reducing costs associated with dispersed services and rented premises.
Minister Mariatou Koné expressed satisfaction with the project's progress, stating that it aligns with the government's objective of centralizing DGPE services. She noted that the current dispersal of services, with some located in rented premises, results in inefficiencies. The new headquarters will enable faster execution of activities and cost savings.
The construction project is being carried out by Artémis Construction et Travaux, a subsidiary of the Kaydan group, a national company. Minister Koné emphasized that the project is part of a broader effort to promote national enterprises and foster national champions.
Alain Kouadio, president of the Kaydan group, expressed pride in participating in the construction of the DGPE headquarters, citing the availability of necessary supplies to complete the project. He acknowledged that international conflicts had caused difficulties in transporting goods but confirmed that 98% of required materials are now available.
Kouadio assured that his teams are working around the clock to accelerate completion of the project, with a target delivery date of November 2026. Minister Koné will then determine the inauguration date. The project's progress reflects the government's commitment to improving public services and promoting national development.
The successful completion of the DGPE headquarters will not only improve working conditions for employees but also enhance the efficiency of public services. With its centralized location and modern facilities, the new headquarters is expected to play a vital role in Côte d'Ivoire's public sector development.
