The Abidjan Land Days 2026, held from October 5 to 7, have brought together stakeholders in the land sector to discuss the importance of land securitization in Côte d'Ivoire. The event, taking place at the Abidjan Exhibition Park, features companies specializing in land governance and modernization. The theme of the event, "Land Securitization: A Factor of Social Cohesion and a Lever for Productive Investment, Job Creation, and Sustainable Development," highlights the significance of land securitization in the country's development.

One of the exhibitors, a surveying firm led by Sékou Diallo, has claimed expertise of over 20 years in the land sector. The firm has contributed to the management of over 1 million hectares, approximately 80% of the national rural land securitization program. It has also conducted 2 million land surveys, mapped 2,000 km² of territories, and trained over 5,000 young people. Additionally, the firm has 2 million land and geospatial surveys available and reliable, and has secured 1 million hectares of land.

Sékou Diallo emphasized the importance of local training and employment, highlighting his firm's commitment to land governance and securitization in Côte d'Ivoire. He has received several awards, including the Officer of the Agricultural Merit and Knight of Agricultural Digitalization. The event also focuses on urban land, with experts warning buyers to be cautious of offers on social media.

Faustin N'Guessan, Commercial and Marketing Director of the Agence Foncière (Agef), advised buyers to verify the legal and technical status of land before transactions. Agef offers secured and serviced plots with infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and other amenities. The goal is to provide the population with sufficient secured, serviced, and ready-to-build land.

Etafaf, a Moroccan company specializing in land securitization and geospatial information, has strengthened its presence in Côte d'Ivoire. Its Abidjan-based subsidiary is involved in the Presfor project in the Bafing and Gontougo regions. The company aims to exchange with African sector actors and better understand financing mechanisms.

Etafaf's Director, Kamal Ben Addou Idrissi, stated that the company's interest is to listen to funders, including the World Bank and the African Development Bank, and to promote experience sharing. These initiatives enable participants to contribute to making land a tool for trust, investment, and sustainable development.
