The government of Côte d'Ivoire has adopted a decree reorganizing the Institut des sciences et techniques de la communication (ISTC Polytechnique) with the creation of two new schools. Additionally, the École de production audiovisuelle is replaced by the École de production et des techniques audiovisuelles.
The new decree also integrates rules on the economic and financial oversight of the institution, as well as the preparation and execution of its budget. ISTC Polytechnique was initially created by decree n°92-454 on July 22, 1992. It was later upgraded to a directorate general and polytechnic institute by decree n°2015-476 on July 1, 2015.
The institution is under the administrative supervision of the Ministry of Communication. ISTC Polytechnique's training programs are structured according to the Licence-Master-Doctorate (LMD) system. The goal is to produce graduates who are immediately employable. The institution's main campus is located in Abidjan.
An extension of ISTC Polytechnique is planned with the opening of a regional campus in Bouaké on October 5. This expansion aims to increase access to the institution's programs across the country. Further details on the new schools and their curricula have not been disclosed.
