SAUVIE, a digital solution developed by Aino Digital, was launched to address the challenge of identifying individuals in emergency situations. The solution uses a QR code identification system, which can be worn on a bracelet, keychain, or other wearable device. This system allows individuals to provide critical information, such as their name, date of birth, and emergency contacts, which can be accessed by healthcare professionals or emergency responders in the event of an emergency.

The idea behind SAUVIE was born out of a personal experience. Scarlett Zongo, the founder of Aino Digital, lost a friend in an accident in 2018. Her friend's phone was locked, making it difficult for his loved ones to identify him. This experience led Zongo to develop a solution that would enable individuals to provide critical information in emergency situations. SAUVIE was launched in 2022 and has since been working to provide a reliable and efficient emergency response system.

SAUVIE's QR code system is available on four different supports: a bracelet, keychain, phone sticker, and backpack tag. Users can choose the support that best suits their needs and fill out a registration form with their personal and emergency contact information. Once registered, users can receive their wearable device within three days. In the event of an emergency, responders can scan the QR code to access the individual's information and alert their loved ones.

The solution also prioritizes data protection. According to Zongo, SAUVIE has worked with the Commission de l'informatique et des libertés (CIL) to ensure that user data is secure. When a QR code is scanned, only the individual's photo and name are visible, while other information is accessible only through a secure authentication process.

SAUVIE offers three different packages to cater to various needs. The basic package, priced at 5,000 FCFA per year, allows users to alert up to four emergency contacts and provide medical information. The "Parapluie" package, priced at 6,900 FCFA per year, includes an insurance policy that covers up to 50,000 FCFA in medical expenses. The "Équipe" package, designed for companies, costs 10,000 FCFA per year and includes additional features such as a personalized sticker and an interface for employee health and safety.

SAUVIE was present at the 19th edition of the Salon international de l'artisanat de Ouagadougou (SIAO) in 2026, where it distributed free identification bracelets to children. This initiative aimed to address the concern of children getting lost in crowded areas. The distribution was made possible with the support of Orange Burkina and other partner companies.

The SAUVIE solution has the potential to make a significant impact in emergency response situations in Burkina Faso. By providing a reliable and efficient system for identifying individuals, SAUVIE aims to facilitate emergency response and save lives. With its user-friendly interface and affordable pricing packages, SAUVIE is poised to become a leading solution for emergency response in the region.
