The Ministry of Justice in Burkina Faso initiated an intergenerational dialogue on October 9, 2026, under the theme "Produce Burkinabè, Consume Burkinabè". This activity is part of the second phase of the 2026 National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation (JEPPC). The dialogue brings together four panelists to share their experiences with the public on promoting "Made in Burkina", economic sovereignty, and creating value.

The panelists will discuss topics such as promoting local entrepreneurship, valorizing female entrepreneurship, and local transformation. They will also address intergenerational transmission, collective organization, and discipline, as well as patriotic and civic engagement. The discussions will highlight how food sovereignty and local products contribute to building a proud and autonomous Burkina Faso.

Abou Simbel Ouattara, CEO of Moablaou S.A., a company producing eggs for consumption in Burkina Faso, is one of the invited panelists. He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Justice for providing a platform for experience sharing and learning, allowing older generations to transmit their knowledge to the youth.

Harouna Kadio, Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, emphasized that this dialogue aims to consolidate the bridge between generations. He highlighted the importance of combining the wisdom and know-how of experienced individuals with the creative energy and innovation of young people. According to him, national sovereignty is built through daily actions, not just speeches.

The intergenerational dialogue, now in its ninth edition, seeks to foster exchanges between experienced individuals and the youth. The discussions will enable the sharing of experiences, successes, and failures, with the goal of promoting local consumption and supporting national efforts. This initiative is expected to help preserve jobs, consolidate enterprises, and support the youth.

The Ministry of Justice's initiative is part of a broader effort to promote patriotism and civic engagement in Burkina Faso. By encouraging the consumption of local products, the government aims to boost the national economy and promote self-sufficiency. The dialogue is expected to contribute to the country's development by fostering a sense of national pride and responsibility.

The intergenerational dialogue will provide a platform for the youth to learn from experienced individuals and gain insights into the importance of consuming local products. The discussions will also highlight the role of women in entrepreneurship and the need for collective action to promote national development. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to build a stronger, more autonomous Burkina Faso.
