The 18th edition of the Salon International de l'Artisanat de Ouagadougou (SIAO) is currently underway, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso (CCI-BF) is playing an active role in supporting the event. On November 5, 2026, the CCI-BF's Director General, Seydou Tou, led a delegation to visit several exhibition spaces, including the pavilion of creativity and the CCI-BF stand. The visit aimed to encourage the SIAO administration and organizers, as well as meet with artisans to appreciate their works.

He emphasized that the exhibited works reflect the spirit of creativity that drives African artisans.
The CCI-BF Director General also stressed the importance of providing artisans with tailored support to enhance the commercialization of their productions. He noted that while transforming raw materials is crucial, commercialization is equally essential for artisans to benefit from their efforts. The CCI-BF aims to offer support in areas such as training, capacity building, and developing commercial strategies to help artisans access international markets.
The CCI-BF is committed to utilizing its expertise to support artisans through various forms of assistance. This includes training, capacity building, and elaborating commercial strategies to help artisans structure their activities, increase product visibility, and improve profitability. Seydou Tou assured that the CCI-BF is available to support artisans in commercializing their works and accessing international markets.
As an institution, the CCI-BF plays a vital role in promoting the development of the private sector in Burkina Faso. It represents and defends the interests of economic operators, providing support in areas such as economic information, training, capacity building, investment promotion, and trade facilitation. The CCI-BF's efforts contribute to the structuring and competitiveness of the national economy.

The event, taking place in Ouagadougou, brings together artisans from Burkina Faso and other African countries, promoting African craftsmanship and creativity. The CCI-BF's involvement demonstrates its commitment to supporting the growth and development of the artisan sector.
The SIAO exhibition has also featured other notable events, including the awarding of 42 prizes to laureates in different categories.
