The Réseau des caisses populaires du Burkina Faso is participating in the 18th edition of the Salon international de l'artisanat de Ouagadougou (SIAO) to promote its microfinance solutions. The institution has set up a stand at the event, where it is showcasing a range of products designed to meet the needs of artisans, traders, and entrepreneurs. The stand, located at B12 in the pavilion of the Soleil levant, offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the Caisse Populaire's services.
According to Alassane Sawadogo, marketing manager of the Réseau des caisses populaires du Burkina, the institution's participation in SIAO 2026 has three main objectives. These include increasing visibility and awareness of the RCPB among artisans and traders, promoting its products and services, particularly those designed for the informal sector, and building relationships with professional artisan organizations. The Caisse Populaire is offering various products, including the "Teltaaba Plus" credit, which is designed for informal sector actors and offers flexible repayment terms.
The "Teltaaba Plus" credit is aimed at small traders and aims to improve their activities by providing working capital and equipment. Another product being promoted is "CRED'ART", which combines credit with non-financial services. This product is designed for young artisans and provides financing for starting or improving their projects. To benefit from these financing options, applicants must be members of the Caisse Populaire, be at least 18 years old, and have a revenue-generating activity.
The Caisse Populaire is also promoting its digital product, "Danaya Cash", which allows users to access financial services without physically visiting a branch. The application enables users to check their account balance, deposit money into their account, withdraw cash, pay bills, and make purchases using a magnetic card. This digital solution aims to facilitate access to financial services, particularly for those in remote areas.
Another innovation being presented by the Caisse Populaire is "Nong-Saaya", a digital tontine system. Unlike traditional tontines, this system uses a card and offers members access to credit. The system has a capped commission structure, making it an attractive option for users. The Caisse Populaire is pleased with the interest shown by visitors to its stand, with many artisans, entrepreneurs, traders, cooperatives, and students visiting to learn more about its services.
The Réseau des caisses populaires du Burkina Faso aims to strengthen trust in its services through its participation in SIAO 2026. The institution believes that its products and services can make a positive impact on the lives of artisans, traders, and entrepreneurs in Burkina Faso. By promoting its microfinance solutions, the Caisse Populaire hopes to increase financial inclusion and support economic development in the country.
The 18th edition of SIAO has attracted many visitors, and the Caisse Populaire's stand has been well-received. The institution's participation in the event demonstrates its commitment to supporting the growth and development of small businesses and entrepreneurs in Burkina Faso. Key points include the promotion of microfinance solutions, digital financial services, and innovative products such as "Nong-Saaya".
