The Association Nodde Nooto (A2N) recently celebrated its 30th anniversary in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The event, held on November 7, 2026, brought together partners, former collaborators, personnel, and authorities to reflect on the organization's journey. A2N was established in May 1996 in Dori and has since expanded its interventions to various parts of the country. The association has been recognized for its contributions to development and humanitarian assistance.

During the ceremony, A2N honored five partners for their significant contributions to its initiatives. The distinguished partners include Action de Carême Suisse, Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Belgique (VSF-B), the Cadre de concertation des ONG et associations actives en éducation de base au Burkina Faso (CCEB-BF), the Secrétariat permanent des ONG, associations de développement et fondations (SPONG), and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC). These organizations have supported A2N's efforts in areas such as local development, food security, education, and humanitarian action.

A2N's activities have had a significant impact on the lives of thousands of people in Burkina Faso. In the area of natural resource management, the association has contributed to the protection of 39,275 hectares in the Kougari pastoral zone. Additionally, A2N has provided training to 2,146 producers, including 1,734 women, on animal feed rationing. The organization has also promoted peace and social cohesion, sensitizing 8,570 people, including 4,135 internally displaced persons, to peaceful coexistence.

The association's humanitarian efforts have also been noteworthy. In 2025, A2N provided assistance to over 35,000 people, with 13,338 benefiting from food distributions. Furthermore, A2N has contributed to the economic empowerment of populations, training 320 young people and women in various trades. The organization has also facilitated the issuance of 10,000 birth certificates and 5,000 Burkinabé national identity cards.

A2N's education initiatives have also yielded positive results. The organization has trained 330 neo-literate individuals and established three village libraries in Kaya, Boulsa, and Dori. These libraries have a collection of over 1,300 books, promoting access to reading and knowledge. Despite these achievements, A2N has faced challenges, particularly in the context of national insecurity and forced population displacement.

The association has had to adapt its working methods and strengthen collaboration with authorities to maintain its activities. With the gradual return of populations to certain secured localities, A2N aims to continue its support to address emerging community needs. The organization's president, Clarisse Honadia Kambou, emphasized the importance of pursuing A2N's mission, stating that the association will continue to work with the same fidelity and proximity to those it serves.

As A2N looks to the future, it remains committed to its goals and objectives. The association's 30th anniversary celebration served as a testament to its resilience and dedication to humanitarian work. With the support of its partners and stakeholders, A2N is poised to continue making a positive impact in the lives of people in Burkina Faso.
