The Burkinabè government has reported significant progress in its efforts to mobilize resources for the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP), with a total of 250,158,437,479 FCFA collected as of September 29, 2026. This amount surpasses the annual target of 200 billion FCFA, representing a realization rate of 125.08%. The FSP was established to support the country's defense and security efforts.
The mobilization of resources for the FSP has been on an upward trend, with a 75.42% increase compared to the same period in 2025, when the government collected 142.603 billion FCFA. The Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, has praised the Burkinabè people for their commitment to the fund, saying that it reflects their adhesion to the national effort of defense and reconquest of the territory.
The resources mobilized have contributed to the operational expenses of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) and the enhancement of the combat capabilities of the fighting forces. The government has also organized an immersion program for members of the Orientation Council and the Management Committee with the Mixed March Battalion Fantôme 1 in Fada N'Gourma.
The Prime Minister has called on the Burkinabè people to continue their support for the FSP, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in the management of the fund. He has also paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces, as well as the VDP engaged in various theaters of operation, and remembered the fallen combatants and victims of terrorism.
The third ordinary session of the Orientation Council of the FSP, presided over by the Prime Minister, has adopted the third management report of the fund and defined orientations to strengthen its effectiveness and transparency. The council has also appreciated the quality of the exchanges and contributions that enabled the adoption of the report.
The President of the Orientation Council has expressed his gratitude to the Burkinabè people, both within and outside the country, for their engagement in support of the FSP. He emphasized that each contribution to the fund represents a concrete contribution to the national effort of reconquest and restoration of the country's territorial integrity.
The next ordinary session of the Orientation Council of the FSP is scheduled for the end of December 2026. The government has reiterated its commitment to optimizing resource mobilization, strengthening transparency and accountability, and consolidating the trust of all contributors to the fund.
