The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, presided over the official inauguration of the R+3 "KEOOGO de Bonheur-Ville" educational complex in Ouagadougou on October 12, 2026. This public establishment is part of the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All and marks a significant step in modernizing and optimizing educational infrastructure in Burkina Faso.

The complex, located in the 7th arrondissement of Ouagadougou, was built on a 35,384 square meter plot declared of public utility in May 2024. The project was entirely financed by the State at a cost of 1.044 billion CFA francs. The three-story building has 16 classrooms and 10 toilet blocks per floor, adapted for people with reduced mobility.

The complex brings together three public primary schools: KEOOGO Bonheur-Ville C, D, and E. For the 2026-2027 academic year, the complex welcomes 1,453 students, including 742 girls, supervised by 32 teachers and three directors. This vertical architecture addresses the land constraints in urban areas while reducing congestion in surrounding establishments.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized the symbolic significance of this infrastructure, stating that it represents the ambition of the progressive popular revolution for education in Burkina Faso. The name "KEOOGO," inspired by traditional initiation camps, aims to transmit values of patriotism, dignity, and solidarity to shape the citizens of tomorrow.

The Minister of Basic Education, Jacques Sosthène Dingara, recalled that this building will serve as a model, responding to the deficit of public establishments and optimizing space occupancy. The construction of the complex was entrusted to the Burkinabè company PRESSIMEX-SOMETA SARL, demonstrating the government's willingness to promote local skills.

The company's manager, Gueswendé Constant Zoungrana, expressed satisfaction at having delivered the project within the contractual deadlines. He praised the support of the structures and the control office, highlighting the importance of promoting national SMEs in large public works. The experience acquired on this project will be used to improve future constructions.

Fifteen other R+3 complexes, more functional and equipped with 18 to 24 classrooms, will be completed in 15 provinces of the country starting in 2027. The inauguration of the KEOOGO de Bonheur-Ville complex marks a significant milestone in Burkina Faso's efforts to modernize its educational infrastructure and provide quality education for all.
