The Minister of Family and Solidarity, Lieutenant-Colonel Passowendé Pélagie Kaboré, presented the achievements of her department on October 5, 2026, during the Dialogue with the People, an event organized as part of the Governmental Exhibition. The minister highlighted several key accomplishments, including the support provided to households that have returned to their homes. A total of 226,404 households have been assisted in their return to 1,055 recaptured areas.

The assistance provided to these households includes installation kits and support to rebuild their means of existence, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, livestock, and non-timber forest products processing. This support aims to help households restore their livelihoods and improve their living conditions. The minister's presentation showcased the government's efforts to address the needs of vulnerable populations and promote sustainable development.

In addition to supporting households, the government has also prioritized the protection of vulnerable populations, including children, people with disabilities, and orphans. Over 13,800 vulnerable children have received support for schooling or training, while more than 2,000 children in street situations have been removed and taken care of. The government is also supporting 1,338 orphans and vulnerable children.

The government has also provided support to people with disabilities, with over 28,000 beneficiaries receiving adapted assistance. Furthermore, 18,500 women have benefited from credits for agropastoral activities, enabling them to improve their economic situation and support their families. These initiatives demonstrate the government's commitment to promoting social inclusion and economic empowerment.

The government's social protection efforts also include support for people in need, with over 1.2 million individuals receiving psychosocial and health support. The Ministry of Family and Solidarity has also developed tools to target social interventions, including the Unique Social Register, which now has over 430,000 registered households.

To improve access to social services, the ministry is leveraging digital technologies, including the DƐMƐ SIRA national digital platform and the mobile social service. These initiatives aim to bring social services closer to populations and improve the effectiveness of social interventions. The government's efforts to promote social protection and economic empowerment are critical to addressing poverty and inequality in Burkina Faso.

The achievements presented by Minister Kaboré demonstrate the government's commitment to promoting social solidarity and supporting vulnerable populations. The government's support for households, children, people with disabilities, and women has made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of individuals. As the government continues to implement its social protection programs, it is likely that more people will benefit from these initiatives.
