The Benue State chapter of Christians United for Israel (CUFI) has praised the crew and passengers of a Flydubai aircraft for their bravery in overpowering an alleged rogue co-pilot and preventing a potential air disaster. This commendation was made by Evangelist Mati Acka, Interim National Coordinator of CUFI, who also led Christians in praying for the recovery of those injured in the incident.
According to reports, the co-pilot attempted to crash the aircraft into Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv before being overpowered by off-duty pilots Yaniv Hayoun, Asaf Rajuan, and Tzvika Manes. Evangelist Acka specifically praised these off-duty pilots for their courageous and proactive rescue mission. The incident highlights the importance of vigilance and quick action in emergency situations.
Evangelist Acka disclosed her commendation during the "Scriptural Compliance Prayers for the Peace of Jerusalem," organised by the Benue State chapter of CUFI at Kingdomite World International Ministries in Makurdi. The prayer programme, anchored on Psalm 122:6, focused on prayers for Jerusalem, Israel, and lasting peace in the region. This annual event has continued for over two decades in obedience to the biblical injunction to pray for Jerusalem.
Acka, who doubles as the North Central Zonal Coordinator for CUFI, explained that the gathering was a Christian observance that aimed to promote peace and stability in the region. She described Israel as "God's own tithe," emphasizing its unique place in God's plan. Acka prayed that those who honoured the scripture by praying for Jerusalem would be blessed.
The prayers also sought emotional and psychological healing for families affected by trauma and grief, safety for Jewish and Arab communities, peaceful coexistence, spiritual awakening, and lasting peace through the Messiah. The event had several notable attendees, including Bishop Dr Mike Judah Angou and Pastor David Tema.
The Flydubai incident highlights the importance of cooperation and bravery in emergency situations. The crew and passengers' actions undoubtedly prevented a catastrophic crash, and their bravery has been widely commended. Evangelist Acka's commendation of the crew and passengers reflects the high regard in which their actions are held.
The Benue State chapter of CUFI will continue to promote peace and stability in the region through its prayer programmes and other activities. The chapter's efforts aim to foster a deeper understanding and respect for the biblical injunction to pray for Jerusalem. Key to these efforts is the promotion of peaceful coexistence and spiritual awakening.
