The Association of Consignees and Maritime Agents of Benin (ACAM) has launched the second edition of its football tournament, bringing together member companies for a series of matches. The tournament, which kicked off on October 2, 2026, will run until November 14, 2026, and features 10 teams in the men's category and 6 teams in the women's category. The competition aims to promote teamwork, camaraderie, and socialization among participants.

The tournament is being held on the sidelines of the Cotonou Transport Logistics Meetings (TLC), a major event that brings together logistics and transport professionals from Benin and the sub-region. The TLC meetings feature professional conferences, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. According to Gildas Atindehoun, president of ACAM, the tournament is designed to extend these exchanges into a sporting and convivial setting.

The first day of the tournament saw two matches, with Pacifique International Lines (PIL) facing off against MAERSK and the Chamber of Crafts (CMA) taking on the Single Window Exploitation Company (SEGUB) of Benin. Both matches ended in a 0-0 draw. The president of ACAM expressed satisfaction with the turnout and engagement on the first day, saying it shows that the objectives of the tournament are being met.

The men's tournament features 10 teams divided into two pools, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the semi-finals. The women's tournament has six teams divided into two pools of three, with the winners of each pool advancing directly to the final. The participation of women in the tournament is a significant aspect of this edition, with ACAM seeking to promote the contribution of women in the sector.

According to Gildas Atindehoun, the participation of women in the tournament reflects ACAM's commitment to valuing and promoting the role of women in the maritime sector. He emphasized that women's participation allows them to take center stage and demonstrate their skills and contributions to the sector.

The tournament is being held at the Fair Play synthetic field in Cotonou, with the final matches scheduled for November 14, 2026. ACAM has invited companies and their partners to support the competition and show their commitment to excellence in the sector. The president of ACAM expressed gratitude to all those who have contributed to making the second edition of the tournament a reality.

The tournament aims to promote socialization, teamwork, and healthy competition among member companies, with a focus on building relationships and networks within the sector. With its unique format and inclusive approach, the tournament is expected to be a highlight of the year's events in Benin's maritime sector.
