The government of Benin has announced that from October 1, 2026, the prices of domestic gas will remain fixed at 2,000 F CFA for a 3 kg bottle and 4,500 F CFA for a 6 kg bottle. On May 7, 2025, the Beninese government announced that it would phase out specific bottles for each distribution company. The goal is to have all bottles uniformized and integrated into a centralized supply system managed by the Société Dépôts Pétroliers du Bénin (DPB SA).
The DPB SA will be responsible for managing the national gas bottle fleet and will own the bottles. The new bottles will bear the colors of the public company and will be commercially interchangeable across the country. This means that consumers will be able to exchange empty bottles for full ones, regardless of the location or initial brand.
