The Benin government, under the presidency of Romuald Wadagni, held a Council of Ministers meeting on October 7, 2026, and announced several key decisions. These decisions aim to drive development, improve infrastructure, and enhance the country's overall growth. The meeting focused on various sectors, including the creation of new development structures, budget transmission to the Parliament, and the launch of road and health projects.
On the regulatory front, the government created and organized territorial development poles, established the Authority for the Development of the Fidjrossè to Ouidah Basins, and set up the Benin Partnerships and Expertise Agency. To ensure the quality, hygiene, and food safety of the Grand Nokoué hotel and restaurant park, the government will conduct an audit mission. This mission aims to define a strategy for upgrading the park and improving its services. The government is committed to enhancing the country's hospitality and tourism sectors.
Finally, the Council of Ministers made several individual appointments to the Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority, as well as to various ministries, including Justice, Health, Interior, Defense, Agriculture, Higher Education, Culture, Communication, and Sports. These appointments aim to strengthen the government's capacity to implement its development agenda and improve public services.
