The Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa State has outlined its strategy to engage voters at the grassroots level ahead of the 2027 election. The party plans to conduct mobilisation activities across all 105 wards in the state. This approach aims to bring the party's message directly to the people. According to the party's timetable, the campaign will kick off with a series of meetings involving key party officials.

The party's campaign schedule, released on Wednesday, indicates that the LGA-to-LGA campaign tour will start on November 23. This follows the inauguration of the State Campaign Council and senatorial district campaign flag-offs. The party's State Publicity Secretary, Ikaebimo Mark, signed the timetable. It highlights a series of activities leading up to the campaign tour, including meetings of the State Working Committee, Expanded State Caucus, and State Executive Committee from October 26 to 28.

In preparation for the campaign, the party will hold a three-day session of fasting, prayer, and Solemn Assembly from November 5 to 7. This will be followed by a dedication and thanksgiving service on November 8. The State Campaign Council will be inaugurated on November 9. These activities are designed to prepare the party for its campaign and engage with voters.

The PDP has scheduled senatorial district campaign flag-offs for November 17, 19, and 21. According to Mark, the campaign programme is structured to enable candidates to reach voters at the grassroots, engage communities, and explain their policies and programmes. The campaign will focus on issues affecting the people, including development priorities and welfare.

The party, led by High Chief Alabh George Turnah, has pledged to conduct its campaign activities peacefully and in accordance with the law. The campaign will avoid personal attacks or inflammatory rhetoric, instead focusing on the issues that matter to the people. This approach aims to promote a positive and issue-based campaign.

The Bayelsa PDP's campaign strategy is designed to promote engagement with voters and ensure that the party's message reaches every corner of the state. By conducting activities at the grassroots level, the party hopes to build a strong connection with the people and increase its chances in the 2027 election.

The party's campaign plans have been well-received by stakeholders, who are eager to see the party's vision for the state. With its focus on issues and peaceful campaigning, the Bayelsa PDP is poised to run a successful campaign that will resonate with voters.
