A free health screening exercise was conducted for hundreds of residents in Banda-Boase, a community in the Banda District of the Bono Region, Ghana. The exercise was organized by Ligbi Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation, as part of the 2026 annual yam festival celebrations of the chiefs and people of Banda-Boase. The event was supported by Odeefuor Dua Bata Bour Ligbi Worotie II, the Chief of Banda-Boase.

During the screening exercise, beneficiaries were checked for various health conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, malaria, hepatitis ‘B’, and Body Mass Index (BMI). The Foundation also registered some residents onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and renewed the membership of others free of charge. This initiative aimed to promote the health and wellbeing of the community.

Odeefuor Worotie II, the Chief of Banda-Boase, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health in the community. He noted that a healthy community was the bedrock of development and encouraged the people to take their health seriously. The medical team, led by Mr Justice Opoku, commended the residents for their impressive turnout.
