Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has denied allegations of sexually abusing a minor, insisting that he never committed the offence that led to his imprisonment. In a recent conversation, Baba Ijesha revisited the circumstances surrounding his arrest and conviction, claiming that he had received warnings about people who could falsely accuse him. According to Baba Ijesha, some individuals had earlier told him that the Spirit of God warned him to pray against false accusations and people who could present lies as the truth.

Baba Ijesha recalled that the prophecy also cautioned him against a situation that could lead to imprisonment, although he said he did not fully understand the warning at the time. When asked whether he was a paedophile, the actor replied that he is not a paedophile. He denied defiling anyone, referencing the allegation that he used a key to sexually assault an eight-year-old girl. The actor claimed that he challenged the allegation by asking what would happen if someone subjected his own daughter to a similar act.

Baba Ijesha expressed regret over ignoring an earlier warning to remove something from his journey, saying he believed the incident that led to his arrest might not have happened if he had paid attention. Recounting another encounter, he mentioned visiting Baba Owolowo, where he claimed people performed rituals before his eventual arrest. He also spoke about Boss Bello’s residence, explaining that most of the women around the place were people he had trained professionally and describing them as his products.

Baba Ijesha’s comments have renewed attention to his controversial case. In July 2022, the Lagos State High Court convicted him of sexual assault and indecent treatment of a minor. The court found him guilty of the offence, and he was sentenced to prison. Baba Ijesha completed his prison sentence and regained his freedom around November 2025.

Despite his latest denial, Baba Ijesha's comments do not alter the court’s conviction. The actor's case drew widespread media attention and public outcry, with many expressing shock and disappointment at the allegations. His denial has sparked renewed debate and discussion about the case, with some questioning the validity of the allegations and others expressing support for the victim.

Baba Ijesha's case highlights the complexities and challenges of addressing allegations of sexual abuse and assault. The case also underscores the importance of seeking justice and support for victims of abuse. In the wake of his release from prison, Baba Ijesha has sought to rebuild his life and career, but his latest comments are likely to reignite controversy and debate about his case.

The incident has left a lasting impact on Baba Ijesha's life and career. His comments have sparked a renewed conversation about the case, and it remains to be seen how his latest denial will be received by the public and the media.
